Milos Island National Airport (IATA: MLO, ICAO: LGML) is a small public airport serving the Greek island of Milos, part of the Cyclades. It lies about 5 km southeast of the island’s main port at Adamas. The airport first opened in January 1973, and its current terminal building dates back to October 1995.
The airfield sits at a very low elevation — roughly 3 meters (10 ft) above sea level. It has a single asphalt runway (08/26) that is approximately 1,075 meters (about 3,434 feet) long. Because of this short runway and small apron — which is only about 7,800 m² — the airport can accommodate only small turboprops, such as the Dash 8 or ATR, or other light aircraft.
In recent years, passenger traffic has rebounded strongly: in Q3 2023, Milos Airport saw a 17% increase in volume, with passenger numbers exceeding pre-pandemic levels. For the summer of 2024, the airport also recorded a 5% year-on-year rise in passenger traffic, making it one of the fastest-growing in the Greek national airport network.
There remain long-discussed plans to relocate the airport to a new site with a runway of 2,000 × 45 meters and a significantly larger apron (up to 26,000 m²), but these have not advanced due to financial constraints.
