Thessaloniki International Airport “Macedonia” (Greek: Κρατικός Αερολιμένας Θεσσαλονίκης «Μακεδονία»; IATA: SKG, ICAO: LGTS), formerly known as Mikra Airport, is located in Thermi, approximately 13 km south‑southeast of Thessaloniki’s city center. It serves as the main gateway to Northern Greece, including the region of Macedonia and popular tourist destinations such as Chalkidiki. The airport has two runways. Runway 10/28 is 3,440 m long and was completed and extended by 2019, enabling operations for larger aircraft and improving reliability in low-visibility conditions. Runway 16/34 is 2,424 m long. This infrastructure allows the airport to accommodate a wide range of aircraft, from small propeller planes and regional airliners to medium and long-range jets as well as large airliners.
