Brindisi Casale Airport, Italy

Brindisi Airport (IATA: BDS, ICAO: LIBR) — also known as Brindisi – Salento Airport or Papola Casale Airport — serves Brindisi and the surrounding Salento region in southern Italy. It is located in Contrada Baroncino, about 6 km from the city centre, in the province of Brindisi.

In 2024, the airport handled 3,379,741 passengers, an increase of 6.7% from the 3,168,788 recorded in 2023.  Monthly traffic continues to grow: in January 2025, there were 168,229 passengers, up 7.3% year over year, with a 5.8% rise in domestic traffic and a 16.4% jump in international traffic.

The airport’s operator, Aeroporti di Puglia, reported that in 2024 the total number of passengers across its network (Brindisi, Bari, Foggia) exceeded 10 million for the first time.

A regulatory update: by ordinance n. 4/2024, Brindisi Airport’s operations are restricted between 19:00 and 23:00 local time.

In its 2035 master-plan (relazione generale), Aeroporti di Puglia outlines continued passenger growth, increased aircraft movements, and an expansion strategy that looks toward enhancing both commercial and general aviation services.
