Tortolì Airport, officially Tortolì–Arbatax Airport (IATA: TTB, ICAO: LIET), is a regional airfield on the eastern coast of Sardinia, Italy. It lies in the Province of Nuoro, about 140 km from Cagliari and 100 km from Nuoro, and is operated by Aliarbatax S.r.l..
Originally built in the 1960s with a grass runway to support the Arbatax paper mill, the runway was paved in 1975. The asphalt runway now measures 1,442 m (4,731 ft) in length and 30 m in width, oriented 12/30. The airport sits only 7 m (23 ft) above sea level.
After a long period of closure to commercial traffic (since 2011), Tortolì Airport reopened in June 2023 for general aviation. Its current operations are limited: the airport is open from sunrise to sunset, and arrivals/departures must be coordinated with the operator in advance.
In July 2025, the Sardinian Regional Government approved a €3.5 million redevelopment plan to upgrade the airfield for commercial use. The works will include perimeter fencing, taxiway improvements, fire‑safety systems, and station upgrades. Once completed, the airport aims to support aircraft carrying 80–100 passengers, which would enable a return of scheduled service.
Tortolì–Arbatax Airport is becoming not just a hub for general aviation and private aircraft, but also a potential commercial node for tourism on the Sardinian east coast, strategically complementing Sardinia’s larger airports in Cagliari, Olbia, and Alghero.
