Belluno Airport, Italy

Belluno Airport, officially Aeroporto Arturo Dell’Oro (IATA: BLX, ICAO: LIDB), is a small general aviation airfield located near Belluno in the Veneto region of northern Italy. Situated along state road SS 50 between Ponte nelle Alpi and Belluno, it sits at an elevation of about 378 m (1,240 ft) above sea level.

The airport features a single grass runway (05/23), 812 m in length, and is primarily used by Aeroclub Belluno “Arturo Dell’Oro”, one of the largest pilot communities in northern Italy. The Aero Club runs a flight school offering training for the Private Pilot License (PPL), glider pilot license, and mountain flying certifications, and also provides advanced soaring instruction.

Belluno Airport is also a hub for parachuting activity, serving the Belluno Parachuting Aero Club ASD, and regularly hosts skydiving events, including world-class competitions.

According to ENAC (the Italian Civil Aviation Authority), the airport supports HEMS (air ambulance) operations: a 2024 ordinance renewed the authorization for certain helicopter rescues to use Belluno Airport.

In local planning discussions, there have been proposals to modernize and develop the site more fully, particularly for tourism and civil protection purposes. However, some parts of the airport’s surroundings remain under specific land-use restrictions.

Belluno Airport continues to serve as a key center for general aviation, sport flying, gliding, and parachuting, rather than as a commercial passenger airport.
