Orio al Serio International Airport (IATA: BGY, ICAO: LIME), also officially called Il Caravaggio International Airport, is located in the municipality of Orio al Serio, just southeast of Bergamo in Lombardy, Italy. It sits at an elevation of 238 m above sea level, and is operated by SACBO S.p.A.
In 2024 the airport set a new passenger record with 17.35 million travelers, an increase of about 8.6% over the previous year. It handled flights to 158 destinations across 42 countries, served by 24 airlines. Despite the strong 2024 results, in the first half of 2025 the airport recorded a 3.5% fall in passenger numbers compared to the same period in 2024.
Orio al Serio Airport has two runways: runway 10/28, 2,937 m in length, and runway 12/30, which is 778 m long.
Financially, the airport reported strong results, with its management approving a net profit of €11.6 million, boosted by higher passenger volumes and commercial revenues.
Orio al Serio remains a key base for low-cost carrier operations — especially Ryanair, which accounts for a large share of the airport’s traffic.
