Lyon–Bron Airport (IATA: LYN, ICAO: LFLY), also known as Aéroport de Lyon‑Bron, is a business aviation and general aviation airport located in Bron, about 10 km east of Lyon in the Auvergne‑Rhône‑Alpes region of France.
Operated by Aéroports de Lyon, Bron is France’s third-largest business aviation airport, serving a variety of aircraft including small and midsize jets, helicopters, and private aircraft. The airport is open 24 hours a day and offers a full range of handling services under its VINCI Airports Executive Handling label. Lyon–Bron is the base for several business aviation operators, including Oyonnair, Jetcorp, Harmony Aircraft Services, Mont Blanc Hélicoptères, and Pan Européenne.
The runway at Lyon–Bron is 1,820 m long and paved, making it capable of accommodating a variety of business jets and light aircraft. The airport also has extensive hangar capacity: for example, Hangar H14 can house large business aircraft up to BBJ size, and specialized hangars offer office space, heated bays, and even rooftop photovoltaic installations.
Environmentally, Lyon–Bron is pushing into low-carbon aviation. In 2023, it welcomed the first 100% electric aircraft — a Pipistrel Velis Electro — as part of efforts to reduce CO₂ emissions and limit noise pollution. These actions align with its environmental charter, signed by local municipalities, flying clubs, and the region.
Historically, Lyon–Bron played a major role: it opened in 1920, became an international airport in 1924, and served as Lyon’s primary commercial airport for decades before most passenger traffic shifted to Lyon-Saint Exupéry. Today, it is purely dedicated to business aviation, training flights, and medical aviation services, including organ transport and air rescue..
Lyon–Bron also offers infrastructure for aviation events and business development: there are long-term plans (2024–2027) to expand with a new hangar for light aviation, a second restaurant, an extended fueling area, and upgraded facilities for public service aviation users
