Paris Charles De Gaulle Airport,France

Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport (French: Aéroport de Paris–Charles-de‑Gaulle, IATA: CDG, ICAO: LFPG), commonly known as Roissy Airport, is the largest international airport in France. It is named after Charles de Gaulle (1890–1970), leader of the Free French Forces during World War II, founder of the French Fifth Republic, and President of France from 1959 to 1969. The airport is located approximately 25 km (16 mi) northeast of Paris, spanning multiple communes. It serves as the main hub for Air France and as a European hub for SkyTeam partner Delta Air Lines.

In 2024, Charles de Gaulle Airport handled approximately 70.3 million passengers, up from 67.4 million in 2023. Aircraft movements reached 460,916, representing a 2.8% increase over the previous year. Cargo and mail traffic totaled 1.915 million tonnes. The airport covers 3,257 hectares and includes nine passenger terminals and six freight terminals. Its nominal maximum capacity is estimated at around 81 million passengers per year once all infrastructure, including the under-construction Terminal 2AC, is completed.

The airport features a highly efficient runway system with four main runways organized into two independent parallel pairs. The longest runway, 08L/26R, measures 4,215 meters (13,829 feet) in length and 45 meters in width, while 09R/27L is approximately 4,200 meters (13,780 feet) long. Two shorter runways, 08R/26L and 09L/27R, are 2,700 meters (8,858 feet) long and 60 meters wide. This layout allows for simultaneous takeoffs and landings on separate runways, optimizing traffic flow. The airport is certified to handle large aircraft, including Boeing 747‑400s and Airbus A380s.
