Blackbushe Airport, United Kingdom

Blackbushe Airport (IATA: BBS, ICAO: EGLK) is an operational general aviation aerodrome located in the civil parish of Yateley, in the north-east corner of Hampshire, England. It is owned and operated by Blackbushe Airport Ltd. The airport has a single asphalt runway, 07/25, which is approximately 1,335 m (4,380 ft) long and is primarily suited for small piston aircraft, light business jets, and turbo-props.

The aerodrome holds a CAA Ordinary Licence (Number P693), allowing flights for the public transport of passengers and for flight training as authorised by the licensee. While the licence allows night use, most operations occur during the standard hours of 07:00–18:00, with limited extensions possible until 22:00 on request.

Blackbushe Airport is home to several flight schools offering PPL, CPL, night ratings, instrument, and instructor training. It also provides hangar space, maintenance facilities, and an FBO terminal for general aviation users. Despite the runway length limitations, the airport supports a range of light business aircraft and turbo-prop operations.

Recent developments include planning permission granted in June 2025 for new hangars and infrastructure expansion. Long-term plans focus on adding up to 30 hangars, enhanced maintenance facilities, and an upgraded passenger and crew terminal. However, much of the airport sits on common land (Yateley Common), which constrains the scale of future development.

Blackbushe continues to operate as a busy general aviation base with a strong emphasis on flight training, light business traffic, and modernization efforts aimed at improving facilities while respecting land-use restrictions.
