Friedrichshafen Airport (IATA: FDH, ICAO: EDNY), also known as Bodensee‑Airport, is a regional international airport located about 1.9 miles north of Friedrichshafen, Germany, on the shores of Lake Constance. The airport sits at an elevation of 414 m and is operated by Flughafen Friedrichshafen GmbH.
It has a single asphalt runway (06/24) that is approximately 2,356 m (7,730 ft) long, allowing operations of small to medium commercial aircraft.
In terms of use, FDH serves both scheduled regional flights and general aviation. It is an important gateway for tourism in the Lake Constance region, particularly for travelers from Germany, Austria, and Switzerland.
Passenger numbers have fluctuated in recent years: in 2022, the airport handled about 339,556 passengers, and in 2023 the count was 314,953. Despite financial challenges, the local city council confirmed in 2025 that it will continue to support the airport with multi‑million euro annual subsidies, conditional on increasing its passenger numbers.
In its 2025/26 winter schedule, Friedrichshafen is adding new seasonal routes, such as Kopenhagen (Denmark), Kuusamo (Finland), and Hurghada (Egypt), further diversifying its international network.
