Spetses Summer Operations

Located at the foot of the Peloponnese in the Saronic Gulf, Spetses is one of Greece’s most charming summer destinations, known for its pine‑covered hills, elegant neoclassical architecture, and car‑free streets that invite leisurely exploration.

The island’s picturesque harbor of Dapia is lined with stylish cafés, boutique shops, and waterfront restaurants, a vibrant hub for day and evening life.

Spetses also has a rich maritime history and played an important role in the Greek War of Independence, memories of which are preserved at museums such as the Bouboulina Museum and the Spetses Museum in the historic Mexis mansion.

You’ll find beautiful beaches like Agia Marina, Agioi Anargyroi, Zogeria, Kaiki, and Xilokeriza, ranging from lively, organized shores with watersports and tavernas to secluded coves accessible by boat. Water taxis and traditional caiques connect these beaches with the main harbor, while bicycles and horse‑drawn carriages are popular ways to see the island’s scenic paths and charming streets in summer. Daily boat tours also take visitors to hidden caves and remote beach spots around the island.

In early September, the famous Armata Festival, a dramatic reenactment of the historic naval battle complete with fireworks and cultural events, draws visitors from all over Greece.
