Václav Havel Airport Prague (Czech: Letiště Václava Havla Praha), formerly known as Prague Ruzyně International Airport (IATA: PRG, ICAO: LKPR), is Prague’s main international airport and the busiest in the newer EU member states. In 2024, it handled 16,353,522 passengers, an 18% increase year‑on‑year.
The airport is situated about 10 km west of Prague’s city center. It serves as a hub for Czech Airlines and a base for Smartwings, Wizz Air, and Ryanair.
Prague Airport has two runways: Runway 06/24, which is 3,715 m long, and Runway 12/30, which is 3,250 m long. Both are concrete, allowing for wide‑body aircraft operations.
Since its opening on 5 April 1937, the airport has grown significantly. In recent years, Prague Airport has also started major long-term development under its “Airport City 2030+” program, focusing on terminal capacity, runway system expansion, and commercial growth around the airport.
