切尔维尼亚滑雪胜地
Breuil-Cervinia’s ski area has top notch skiing for beginner and intermediate skiers and surprising terrain for more experienced skiers too (if you know where to look). The resort, which is more commonly known as Cervinia, after Monte Cervinio, lies on the southern side of the Matterhorn on the other side of Zermatt. Together they share a lift pass covering 350km of pistes served by 59 lifts, and the highest marked ski area in Europe.
The views from the Italian side of the border are phenomenal which is not at all surprising considering that the resort is set in a jagged high-altitude basin in the middle of the Matterhorn and Piccolo Cervino (Klein Matterhorn). And when the weather’s good, the skiing’s fantastic – soft pow and all the fun which that entails, but bad weather conditions, low cloud and the like, have irritated many a visiting skier. The good news is that these poor weather days tend to be rare.
The resort is family friendly and offers a whole host of non-ski related activities (as well as some pretty cool skiing activities). Choose from ice karting on a specially prepared ice circuit or air-boarding and snow-scootering on a kilometre long snow-covered run.
