It is also known as Syros National Airport “Demetrius Vikelas“ (Greek: Κρατικός Αερολιμένας Σύρου “Δημήτριος Βικέλας”, named for Demetrius Vikelas (1835–1908), a Greek businessman and writer born in Ermoupoli on the island of Syros.
