Chios Island National Airport (IATA: JKH, ICAO: LGHI) is an airport on the island of Chios in Greece. It is also known as Chios National Airport, “Omiros”or Chios Airport located at the region of Kampos, south of the city of Chios. It is located 4 km from the center of Chios town on the south side. Founded in August 1969 and the first flight that was welcomed was the Flight 560 Olympic Airways from Athens. The terminal station of the airport has a surface of 800 sq.m. while the runway has a length of 1,500 m. and a width of 30 m. On Chios airport operates two Aids to Navigation in the airport area and a waypoint in Mesta region. In 2003 expropriated area of 39,000 sq.m. south of airport and security zone was created.It is suitable for Small props, Small Jets and Regional Airliners.
