Skigebiet Kirchberg
Kirchberg Ski Resort Kirchberg in Tirol is a traditional family friendly resort which offers easy access to hundreds of miles of pistes, including some excellent intermediate skiing, without the exclusive pricing as some of its more illustrious neighbouring resorts. Situated in the heart of the Tirol, Kirchberg is regarded by many as a more affordable alternative to neighbouring Kitzbühel, with joint access to the KitzSki area and similarly close links to the nearby SkiWelt – Austria’s largest lift-connected ski area. The KitzSki area is served by a modern lift system and boasts 170km of pistes, including a wealth of options for intermediates and the famous Hahnenkamm downhill for more seasoned skiers. While a lift pass is available exclusively for the KitzSki area, the All Star Card is only fractionally more expensive and gives access to ten different ski areas nearby, giving an indication of the vast amounts of skiing on offer from
Kirchberg.Although much of the skiing is suited to intermediates, the extent and nature of the skiing means there is something for skiers of all abilities, with plenty of gentle runs for beginners and ski touring options for advanced skiers looking to test themselves throughout their stay. With a base altitude of just 870 metres, it’s fair to say Kirchberg can’t be viewed as one of Europe’s more snowsure resorts, although commendable investment in snowmaking facilities has ensured that even in bad seasons, the extensive networks of pistes remains entirely skiable.
